I’m Jenbee, welcome to my blog. Here you will find thoughts on education, literature, music, and social and environmental justice. Note that I am biased in terms of education as a means for community – and self-empowerment. This is to contribute to the body of thought on education for the love of learning; education for action, liberation, radical social change and survival. Moreover, I feel that as there’s so much ‘fair and balanced’ (ahem) writing on this already, adding my own opinionated two penneth cannot hurt!

Well, I’m in my thirties. Have lived in Derbyshire, Cheshire, Trafford, Sunderland, Oxford and Manchester, UK. I’ve been to university in both Sunderland and Manchester. In Oxford I worked at student campaigning network People & Planet (they rock) and then from October 2005 to September 2008 at Corporate Watch workers’ cooperative (have a look at the website – does what it says on the tin really). And I’m also on record in calling Rupert Murdoch a “master media manipulator” 
I am active – and outspoken – on issues relating to social and environmental justice. If you *must* pigeon hole me, I’m an eco anarcha-feminist, girly geek, hippie who’s into: equality, environmental justice, Mooncups, fertility awareness (I’m pro-choice, incidentally), and being a crap vegan (I gave up; I love cheese). I am wrong as well as right in my polemic, and consider myself pretty open-minded. Don’t stand next to me when I dance; I may accidentally bounce on your toes. I like: friends, family, flowers, hugs, bees, real ale, dancing, kissing, tea and Fairtrade chocolate.
If you’re wanting a Manchester-based singer who can sing anything in folky and/or rock-opera style. I’m pretty much available for free, or for beer/food, or if you want to give me cash (and I do spend a lot of the time skint) then I definitely won’t stop you!
